paul mccartney concert!

In June, Ky, Kade, Bart and I went to the Paul McCartney concert at Lambeau Field!  It was incredible!
It was Ky and Kade's first concert, and we made them pay half of their tickets (which were not cheap, by the way), so there was a lot of pressure for it to be a great concert.
We ended up stading in the middle of the field for the whole concert so that we could see, but it also gave us room to sing and dance along to the music as well!  It was a great way to see and enjoy the show.

It was so fun to have these boys there with us.  They knew more of the songs than I did, and I'm so glad that they were willing to work hard to earn the money for their tickets so we could be there together!

It was such an incredible show!  There were so many different songs, some super interesting stories that Paul shared, and all the lights, and fireworks, and images on the screen and all the other effects put it all over the top! My favorite parts were when he was playing one of the most iconic Beatles songs, and it hit me that I was watching a Beatle sing Hey Jude!, or another classic song.  It was almost hard to believe.
When it was over, we asked Kade and Ky if it was worth all the money they spent on their tickets, and they both said it was the best money they ever spent!  Not a bad first concert for them!

grandpa and grandma come visit!

Some of the reasons we loved having my parents come visit us this past June:
We all got to pretend we were fighter pilots!

and pretend to fly a plane
we saw some amazing planes at the museum,

we went on a beautiful bike ride together,

 then ate ice cream afterwards!

Some of us rolled down the big hill at Titletown.
We went on a hike and saw some little caves,
I got to spend Father's Day weekend with my dad!

We got to celebrate this amazing dad too!

We climbed up rocks (and no one got hurt!),
Krew jumped off the swings half a million times,
we got to go on a train ride,

 and see some huge trains!

 Grandpa tickled,
and Grandma read stories, and we loved having them here!!

baseball 2019

Baseball season this past spring and summer was so much fun!  It was Krew's first time on a baseball team, and I'm not even sure how many seasons Kade has played at this point.
We weren't sure if Krew was even going to like baseball since he has never played, and it's never even been a sport that he was very interested in watching.  In fact, a few days before his first practice, he asked if we could practice with him at home.  He pointed out that he'd never even used a real baseball bat before, only plastic bats and balls.  Oops!  So, we were a little shocked when Krew loooooved baseball from the very beginning!  One day his practice was cancelled because of snow (gotta love spring sports in Wisconsin), and I couldn't remember the last time he was that disappointed and upset about something.  He really, really loved practicing, and playing baseball this year.  In fact, once the season started, he spent most of his free time in the backyard playing baseball with his brothers and friends.  It was awesome to watch him be so excited about and dedicated to something right away.
Watching him play, you'd never, ever guess that it was his first time playing!  He was good!  He's always been super fast at running, so that part was no surprise, but he was good at hitting, catching, and throwing as well.  He played confidently too.  In a league where almost no kids caught anyone out, Krew did multiple times!  His favorite moment was when he made an unassisted double play!

I can't wait to watch him again next season!
I loved watching Kade play baseball this year!  I could not believe how much he had improved from last season!  Also, it was amazing to watch how much he improved during the season as well.  His team was pretty good, but not great.  It gave him a chance to experience some tough losses, some super close games, and some amazing wins! Most of the kids on his team were not from his school district, and I think he wished he knew more of them to begin with.  But by the end of the season, he had made some new friends on his team.

I loved watching Kade hit, and most of the time he got on base.  But my favorite part was watching him run the bases.  He stole the base so many times! He paid such close attention to what was going on in the game and was always ready to steal.  He was fearless and as a result, he scored lots of runs!
He got to pitch a few times, although most of the time he played catcher or outfield.

It was a great season for Kade as well, and I'm excited to watch him again soon!

dancing queen

Our little dancing queen had her annual dance performance on June 1st, and of course she loved every second of it.  We were so proud of her as we watched her up on that big stage.  She danced each of her two numbers with such joy that we couldn't help but smile (and maybe cry a little too) as we watched her!  It made me excited for all the dance recitals we'll get to watch of her through the next several years as she continues to love dancing!

What a little star!
