spring break: part 3-pool time!

I know I've mentioned it before, but my boys' ideal vacation is staying at a hotel and swimming in the hotel pool.  We had thought about blowing their minds and taking them to one of the many indoor waterpark resorts in the state, but decided that they probably aren't quite big enough for that yet, especially when we also have a 5 month old baby.  So, we found a hotel in Madison that has a small indoor waterpark (read: one slowish waterslide, and a few kiddie slides, and spraying water).  The twins were in heaven!  There was only 8 hours between check-in and check-out that we were awake, and we went swimming 3 times!  (I know, we are the best parents!)
It was Krew's first time in a swimming pool, so I didn't know how he would like it.  The water was plenty warm, but just as I was getting in the pool with him, one of the twins (who will remain nameless) jumped in right next to us and splashed the baby in the face.  He was terrified of the pool for the rest of the day.
Cooper and Lynndon got to come swimming with us once too!
The next morning, we let Krew try the pool again.  He didn't cry, but he had a death-grip on Bart the entire time.  Bart said he liked it, because Krew never snuggles like that!

spring break: part two

After our self-guided tour of the capital building, we headed to one of our favorite downtown Madison spots: Jamba Juice!  Yum!

spring break: part one

This week, the boys are on Spring Break.  Bart also took a few days off of work so we could all go to Madison to see his brother Bret, his wife Charise and their kids.  When we got to Madison on Monday, we met Charise and the kids at the children's museum, only to find out that it's closed on Mondays.  So, we turned around, saw the Capital building, and decided to go inside and look around.  Let's just say it was a happy accident, because it was so cool inside, even my six-year olds thought it was pretty neat!
This is the ceiling in the middle. It goes waaaaay up!

All the kiddos laying in the middle of the capital building, looking up to get the best view!

This is inside the supreme court.  It was amazing how ornate everything was!
 The ceilings were amazing!
Introducing Senators Kade, Cooper, and Ky!

Love these ceilings!!  I think I got a neck cramp from looking up the whole time, but it was so worth it.
And looking way down the staircase!  What a fun thing we got to do, that we never would have planned on.  (plus I felt like Super Mom-doing something educational during Spring Break :) )

a little of this...

We haven't been doing too much exciting lately.  Just waiting for spring to come and school and work and housework and taking care of a baby who has decided he doesn't like to sleep!

A few weeks ago, we had the biggest snow storm of the season, with around 5 inches of snow.  This was also the most snow that was on the ground at any one time the whole winter. Now it's 70 degrees!  It has certainly been a crazy winter.  It will be interesting to see what Spring and Summer are like.

This little butterball is so close to rolling over.  I think he could do it if he wanted to.  But he's pretty content to wiggle, and almost roll over and drool on the blanket!

A few weeks ago, my sister-in-law Charise and her kids came to stay with us.  Bart built a tent in Kade and Ky's room for the boys to sleep in.

One day while they were in town, we all went to the children's museum.  Kade enjoyed dressing like a football player-doesn't he look tough?
Lynndon was so cute splashing in the water, I love her expression here as she splashed a little too hard!
Krew was so good, just watching all that was going on around him.  It makes me excited for when he is old enough to run around and explore at places like that!  (oh, and if  you think I look exhausted in this picture, try to imagine what you would look like after carrying a 17 pound baby on your front for 2 hours!)

I loved to see the big boys dressed in their firefighter gear, because I have some cute pictures of the same 3 boys dressed the same almost exactly a year ago when we went to the children's museum together last.

We were sad to say goodbye to Lynndon and Cooper this time because they are moving far away in May, and we don't know how many more times we are going to see them (and their parents!)

4 months!

My baby is now 4 months old!  Where have these past four months gone?  I know.  They have been filled with feeding, diapering, dressing, burping, bathing, snuggling, rocking, smooching, and loving this chubby little baby!

He loves to chew on his fingers, as well as anything else he can get his hands on, talk to the baby in the mirror, and roll onto his side!  He has the sweetest smile, the cutest giggles, and the sloppiest kisses!  Oh, and the chubbiest legs--at his 4 month check-up he weighed 17 lbs 5 ounces (which is 87th percentile).  All the more baby to love on!
