krew's summer baseball

After being delayed for a few months, and not knowing if the season was going to happen at all, Krew was able to play baseball this summer.
It's always so much fun watching him play.  He takes it so seriously and yet has fun at the same time.

Isn't he the most handsome baseball player you have ever seen??

Most of the time I had to watch the games by myself due to COVID restrictions, but one game I needed to take Everly with me. She "watched" the game by coloring in her sketchbook in the shade.

It was a great season, and was such a great way to get out of the house and do something.  We were extra grateful for the season considering the fact that Ky's soccer season was completely cancelled before it happened, and Kade's baseball season was cancelled about halfway through.  There were several COVID restrictions that made it a weird season, but still so glad it happened.

july fun 2020

With public pools closed this summer, we spent more time at nearby lake beaches as a great way to stay  cool.

Any chance to dip our toes in cool water somewhere, we took.  It was still fun, but man we miss going to the pool once or twice every week.

I made Bart come with me to scout locations for some senior portraits I was going to take.  He was a great stand-in senior for some test shots.

When there is a double rainbow over your house, your mom has to get you out of bed after she has tucked you in so you can see it and take a photo.
After being closed for months, several of the parks opened back up, and when they weren't too crowded, we stopped to play for a bit.
Bart took me on a kayaking date one day.  It was so much fun! We were way faster than all the other couples in our group, but by the end, we were tired.

Another photo of what our porch looked like most of the summer.  When you can't play inside, you bring the inside outside.

everly's {not} dance recital

One of the most heartbreaking things that the pandemic took from us was Everly's dance recital.  The last several months of dance she did virtually, from home.  I was so grateful that she at least had that, but dancing in the living room over a video call is nothing like being in a dance class in a studio.  Since they couldn't hold an end-of year recital, they did the best thing they could. The dancers all put on their costumes, and one class at a time, performed their numbers on the grass outside the studio.  I think Everly had fun doing it, but it was so sad to not be able to perform it on stage, with an audience.

At least we got some adorable photos of her!  She's gorgeous!

I know she'll dance on stage again someday, and I cannot wait!
