christmas eve 2016

Our Christmas Eve started out with the most amazing morning of sledding ever!  The weather was perfect, the snow was great, and everyone had a blast!

Krew was so brave on his sled.  He had the fastest sled, and he didn't hesitate to go down the big hill head first, or even over the jumps head first.  He's crazy!
This little girl said, "again!" about a million times that morning.  She was very good at convincing everyone to take her down the hill over and over again.

That evening, we got all dressed up and headed to a local Mexican food for Christmas Eve dinner.  It's still hard for me that holidays here aren't at all like they were for me growing up, since we have very little family close by, and they are often not around during the holidays.  So, since I can't have Christmas Eve filled with lots of family and friends like I would like, we went completely the opposite direction and went out for Mexican food.  I think I could be okay with making it an annual tradition!

This is what happens when I try to take a picture of everyone all dressed up for dinner.  (Please ignore the fact that one child thinks a football jersey is "dressing up.")

After dinner, we read the Nativity from Luke 2, and opened one present.  Betcha can't guess what it was this year...

P.J.s!
Then we sent these kids to bed with visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads!
