chicago, the museum, and pizza

While my mom was visiting, we decided to spend a few days in Chicago.  She had never been and it was fun to show her some of our favorite things and also to try a few new places we've never been either.  The first thing we did when we got there was go to the Museum of Science and Industry.  We'd never been before and weren't exactly sure what to expect, but it was great!  We could have stayed there even longer than we did, but there was lots we wanted to do during the few short days we were in the city.

After we left the museum, we checked into our hotel, which was downtown!  It was fun to stay downtown, almost on the top floor of a tall building.  There was lots to look at out of our window.  After we got settled, we walked to Gino's East for some Chicago style pizza.  It was a fun atmosphere, and the pizza was good, but not as good as our favorite Chicago pizza place, Giordano's.  But there is some debate over which one is better, so we are glad we tried a new place and now we know!
After dinner, Bart and my mom took the twins to the hotel pool while Krew and I got the room ready for all 6 of us to sleep in!  (Okay, it was a suite with a separate room for the kids, but still...).  It was a fun, and tiring first day of vacation!
