we went to utah: part 3

When you visit Utah on vacation, in the summer, during a global pandemic, you have to find plenty of outdoor, socially distanced activities to do for 10 days.  That meant a lot of hiking!  I'm not complaining.  Spending time in the mountains, and admiring the nature is one of my favorite things to do on vacation.

Our first hike was to the Y.  It's always a steeper hike than I remember, but the incredible view at the top makes it completely worth the hamstring burn!

I think Krew loved the hike more than anyone.  He was so proud of himself, and couldn't believe how high he hiked.

At the Y, Bart and I looked out over the city of Provo and pointed out landmarks that were special to our love story.  Provo will forever be where we fell in love!

For reference for those that don't know, that Y on the mountain is where we hiked to.

Meanwhile, Everly and Grandma stayed home and made this gorgeous cake.

We spent the next day walking all around the gorgeous gardens at Thanksgiving Point.  I thought they were incredible, but the kids thought they were boring.  I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

The next hike we went on was up Provo canyon, past Bridal Veil falls.

That evening we had our traditional tin-foil canyon dinner.  It's one of my favorite things to do every time we visit Utah.  I suppose we could do this at home, but we never do.  It's just not the same without the canyon.
While the dinners were cooking, we went exploring.

Another day, we went further up Provo canyon and went hiking up to Stewart Falls. It ended up being a little too hard/long for Everly, but we made it, and it was gorgeous.  Unfortunately, there were way too many people at the falls, and we didn't feel safe, pandemic wise, so we didn't stay very long, and headed back down to enjoy our picnic lunch.
